What Seat / Round Wind means

Three of the wind tile that matches your seat, or the wind of the current round. Other winds do not score.

How to spot it. Three matching wind tiles that are “yours” — your seat wind or the round wind.

A worked hand

Sitting East in the East round with a triplet of East — the one case where a single wind triplet is counted twice, once as your seat wind and once as the round wind.

Passed to Mahjiku's scoring engine (won on a discard, with sets claimed from the table, seat wind East, round wind East), that hand comes back as:

What 3 faan actually pays

Faan is not the score by itself — it is the number the table turns into points, and Hong Kong tables do that two different ways. Both are shipped in Mahjiku; the additive model is the default.

Self-draw: all three opponents pay. Discard: only the player who threw the tile pays. Both columns are the winner's gain, straight out of the app's settlement function.

How it interacts with other hands

Gives way to Big Four Winds (18 faan) — when a hand qualifies for both, the engine emits only the bigger name. See Big Four Winds.
