What Pure Straight means

A complete 1-to-9 run in a single suit: 1-2-3, 4-5-6 and 7-8-9, all the same suit.

The 10 faan for Pure Straight is only part of it. The same tiles also satisfy Ping Hu (+2) — patterns stack in Hong Kong scoring, which is why a hand named for one shape often pays a good deal more than that shape's own value.

What 13 faan actually pays

Faan is not the score by itself — it is the number the table turns into points, and Hong Kong tables do that two different ways. Both are shipped in Mahjiku; the additive model is the default.

Self-draw: all three opponents pay. Discard: only the player who threw the tile pays. Both columns are the winner's gain, straight out of the app's settlement function.
