Seven Pairs (七對 · Chat Deui) is a Hong Kong mahjong hand: Instead of four sets and a pair, your hand is seven pairs — seven matching couples of tiles. Mahjiku's default sheet prices it at 7 faan, and every win also carries the 1 faan base, so a hand whose only named line is Seven Pairs totals 8 faan. Under Mahjiku's default additive payout that 8 faan is the payment itself: the winner collects 24 points on a self-draw (自摸), when all three opponents pay 8 each, or 8 from the single player who discarded the winning tile (點炮). Faan values are a table's own call; this is Mahjiku's shipped default, editable in House Rules.

The 7 faan for Seven Pairs is only part of it. The same tiles also satisfy Concealed Hand (+2) — patterns stack in Hong Kong scoring, which is why a hand named for one shape often pays a good deal more than that shape's own value.

What 10 faan actually pays

Faan is not the score by itself — it is the number the table turns into points, and Hong Kong tables do that two different ways. Both are shipped in Mahjiku; the additive model is the default.

Self-draw: all three opponents pay. Discard: only the player who threw the tile pays. Both columns are the winner's gain, straight out of the app's settlement function.
