What Mixed Outside means

Every set and your pair reaches an end tile — a 1, a 9, or an honour (wind/dragon).

How to spot it. Each group touches a 1, 9, wind or dragon, and at least one honour is in the mix.

What 8 faan actually pays

Faan is not the score by itself — it is the number the table turns into points, and Hong Kong tables do that two different ways. Both are shipped in Mahjiku; the additive model is the default.

Self-draw: all three opponents pay. Discard: only the player who threw the tile pays. Both columns are the winner's gain, straight out of the app's settlement function.

How it interacts with other hands

Gives way to All Honours (20 faan) — when a hand qualifies for both, the engine emits only the bigger name. See All Honours.
Gives way to All Terminals (16 faan) — when a hand qualifies for both, the engine emits only the bigger name. See All Terminals.
Cannot appear with Pure Outside — the engine reads a hand as exactly one of these; the two describe the same tiles in incompatible ways. See Pure Outside.
