Flowers (花 · Fa) is a Hong Kong mahjong scoring bonus: Flower and season tiles are bonus tiles set to the side — not part of your 14-tile hand. Each one you hold scores a point. Mahjiku's default sheet prices it at 1 faan, and every win also carries the 1 faan base, so a hand whose only named line is Flowers totals 2 faan. Payment follows the hand's whole faan total, not this line alone: under Mahjiku's default additive model the total is what each payer hands over — all three opponents on a self-draw (自摸), the discarder alone on a discard win (點炮), and since 2 faan is under the 3 faan minimum, Flowers is a top-up rather than a hand of its own. Faan values are a table's own call; this is Mahjiku's shipped default, editable in House Rules.

Flowers sit outside the hand, so the engine also reports a separate 8 — the total without them. That is the number measured against the 3 faan minimum: flowers can add to what a win pays, but they can never carry a hand over the line.
Faan is not the score by itself — it is the number the table turns into points, and Hong Kong tables do that two different ways. Both are shipped in Mahjiku; the additive model is the default.

Self-draw: all three opponents pay. Discard: only the player who threw the tile pays. Both columns are the winner's gain, straight out of the app's settlement function.
