Choose it instead if you play American mahjong, run a club or league, or want a rating that follows you between tables. Mahjiku does not score American mahjong and has no rating system.
A riichi score tracker, stated as compatible with EMA Riichi Competition Rules (2016), with game history and statistics in a web account at mahjongtracker.com. Listed on Google Play.
Choose it instead if your table plays riichi under competition rules, or you want long-run personal statistics you can study on a computer afterwards. Mahjiku scores Hong Kong mahjong only.
A paid iOS scoring calculator covering European Classical, Hong Kong, Japanese Modern / EMF Riichi and Chinese Official, with 4, 3 and 2 player modes, a score sheet that calculates payments, and AirPrint. See the App Store listing.
Choose it instead if your group switches between rulesets, plays 3-handed or 2-handed, or wants to print the score sheet. Mahjiku is deliberately one ruleset, four seats, done well.
Scans a winning hand with the phone camera and calculates Han, Fu, Faan or Tai across riichi, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and HK-style Taiwanese, with adjustable rule profiles. See the App Store listing.
Choose it instead if you want the camera to read the tiles for you, or you play Taiwanese scoring. Mahjiku's record flow is tiles entered by hand; reading tiles from a photo is not part of the app.
Mahjiku is for a Hong Kong mahjong table where one person keeps score and everyone else wants to see it. The host records each hand, the guests follow the same board live from their own seat, every hand is named as it lands, and the night ends with a recap worth sharing. Your house rules are the app's centre, not a settings page. Points only — for the love of the game.
